"The Feet"

Our very good friends, Jason & Katie Foote (aka The Feet), brought their two cute boys, Kason & Rylie, down from Dallas to visit for Memorial Weekend. Kason and Allie played really well together. We took the kids to the beach on Saturday and they had a blast and then to our pool on Monday. We had so much fun hanging out with our friends - thanks Jason and Katie for coming to visit.

Although it looks like we posed the kids, we didn't.
Allie snuggled with Kason all on her own.

1st Week at UHY

So Kyle just finished his 1st week at UHY. He is really liking the company and everyone he works with. He is working in the Forensic Litigation Valuation Services (FLVS) department. The job requires him to look over and prepare financial documents going to court. He says they are working on really interesting cases dealing with huge firms from all over. His commute is only 40 minutes...which he is use to since it took him that long to commute to MyComfort. If he works overtime and misses all of the traffic it only takes him 20 minutes to get home. All of his co-workers think he is nuts because they all live 10 minutes away - but downtown apartments are expensive. Most of his co-workers are single and they are amazed that not only is he married, but that he has been married for 3 1/2 years and has a 20 month old daughter. This looks like a GREAT company with lots of room for advancement.

New Home in Houston

So far we love our new place. We feel really safe in our area and we especially love the alarm system. I'm in LOVE with my dishwasher! Sometimes it feels really hot in our apartment until I go outside.

ABC's & 5 Little Monkeys

Allie has gotten really good at singing the abc's...as long as someone is singing with her. Although she is camera shy, you can still see that she knows a lot of the letters. It is really funny to hear her sing her abc's all by herself - it sounds like..."a b c i g l p r y z...now _ know __abc________ME!" She is really growing up! You can mute the song by clicking the speaker icon in the lower left corner of the "Playa Del Carmen" post.

Playa Del Carmen

We had a blast in Mexico. We went with Kyle's dad (Darren) and his wife (Debi) and his step-sister (Sarah). My little sister (Kristy) was also able to talk my parents into letting her come along. Here are some picture of downtown Playa Del Carmen. It was so funny buying from their shops. I tried to buy a bracelet when we went in the afternoon one day, but I couldn't bargain below $7 so I left. When I went back the next night there was another guy running the same shop and he wouldn't go below $25. They judge you based on appearance and how busy it is that day. Everything was "nearly free." We went to the beach a few times...which is really eventful with a baby. After putting sunscreen on her she would touch the sand then rub her eyes - Yikes! I think I found sand in her diaper for days! Just kidding :) Once she got use to the water she loved the beach. We also went to Coba and Tulum. It was a really nice break from our daily routine. Thanks Darren & Debi for that amazing trip!

Coba

Coba was about 30-45 minutes past Tulum. It is the highest tower you are allowed to climb. It took me forever to climb it and even longer to get down. It dates back to around 600-900 AD.

Tulum

Tulum is an ancient city (not sure how ancient :) about 45 minutes from where we stayed. The city sits on the cliff above this amazing beach.

The Grand Mayan Resort

Our resort was AMAZING! It was right on the beach and was landscaped SO beautifully.

Happy 25th Birthday!

We celebrated Kyle's 25th birthday in Mexico - not a bad way to celebrate - eh? He is such a great husband and father and we love him so much!

Farewell BBQ With Family

So here are some cute pictures of our goodbye BBQ with my family. It was so fun having everyone together and having a fun day outside. We were really sad that my brother Rob was stuck studying for his finals in Washington and wasn't able to make it - but we were so excited that Angie and Olivia were able to come and see us before we left. Thanks mom for making a great dinner! Love ya family!

Alright, so the blog has been neglected since the move to Houston and our trip to Mexico. We just got back today from the beautiful Playa Del Carmen (next to Cancun). I will be posting Houston and Mexico pictures shortly. We are doing great and so far enjoying our new place. We miss all of our friends and family back in Utah and hope you are all doing well.
