We won't be homeless!

So Kyle and I went to Houston Thursday through Saturday hoping to buy a house. With no success Thursday and Friday we started looking for an apartment to rent for a while. I had been in contact with a manager from an apartment complex months ago and we went to take a look at the apartment and surrounding area. We really liked it and now we won't be homeless! Stone Canyon is a gated apartment complex and each apartment has an alarm system. It is highly rated in all areas including safety. Our church is on the same street less than a mile away. Here will be our new address starting the first of May:
10919 West Road Apt 538 Houston, TX 77064
Stone Canyon Apartments

I'm looking forward to swimming with Allie in the pool.

The Fitness Center

The Business Center
Small Park/Picnic Area
Our apartment has 2 bedrooms
2 Baths
Small Dining Area
A kitchen with a DISHWASHER!!!! - I'm so excited about that!
Our family room will have a fireplace since we are on the 3rd floor. (Sorry to those of you helping us move) It also has a small balcony!

We just really want to thank Darren and Debi for coming out to Houston with us. It was so great to have someone who knew the area and could give us advice. Thanks!

My First Haircut

Dawn Crosland gave me my first haircut! She was the same person who gave my mom and grandma their first haircut. Mom kept giving me fruit snacks and smarties so I would hold still. Dawn also let me play with her rollers, bobby pins, and clips while she cut my hair.

Two Peas in a Pod

Allie loves her Aunt Kristy! She can't say Kristy, so she just calls her "T." If I ever mention that we are going to go see Kristy, Allie either gets really excited or does her surprised face.

Annual Green River Trip

This year Kyle went fishing with Ron Davis, Brad Hardcastle and Brad's dad. They had a lot of success and even more important a ton of fun! Here are some pictures.

This picture was from Kyle's New Year's pheasant hunt with Steve Patten. Kyle had the one on the left mounted. Since we don't have an "appropriate" place to put it, the pheasant is currently residing at the Patten's. :)

Duckies!!!

It's that time of year again when we start going to the duck park. Allie LOVES the ducks. She chases them around the whole park with her arms out so she can hold them. It was so fun to get out of the house and play outside!

Chatty Kathy

Allie has really started to talk. Most everything she says is jibber but she can mimic what you say. Some of my favorite words are: Please, Cheese, Amen, Cracker and Cookie. Everytime she says Hello she raises her hand to her ear as if she has a cell phone. She also does great animal sounds: Horse, Sheep, Tiger, Dog, Cat, and Elephant. She is starting to have a mind of her own and she knows what she wants. Sometimes she'll throw a tantrum, but mostly she'll point and say "Please." One thing she has been doing recently is waking up in the morning giggling and talking. I love waking up to her laughing!
