Happy Birthday Brock!

My baby boy is one and I can hardly believe it! I guess time really does fly when you're having fun! He is the best baby and he brings so much happiness and love to our family. He is so smart and active. He keeps us on our toes! Opening presents! He did pretty good but got lots of help from his big sister and cousin.

Thanks ya'll for the gifts!!!

Great-Grandma Fay got Brock this little golf set. She was down visiting last week and Brock kept taking her cane and using it to hit balls on the ground. So this was a very fitting gift and he loves it! I can't believe how good he is at it. Cake Time! He started out a little hesitant but decided the best strategy was to lift the whole thing to his mouth. He was so cute and a complete mess by the time he was finished!

Some of our favorite things about Brock!

~He loves to be chased around the room while we growl at him. He has just recently started to growl at us and laughs hard if you pretend to be scared.

~He'll grab any phone and put it up to his ear and babble. If Kyle or GG is on the other line he goes silent and his eyes and smile get so big!

~He loves the outdoors and cries if I make him come inside.

~He is so sweet and loves his big sister immensely! I swear he says her name...pronounced ow-ee.

~He L.O.V.E.S. GG & Papa's diet coke. When he sees their drinks, he grunts until they give him a sip. Then he follows them around the rest of the night begging for sips.

~He has recently started mini tantrums. Where he bounces up and down with his head tilted up. Then he falls to his bum and flings himself onto his back. I know we shouldn't laugh, but we do!

~He is now officially 2 days without his binky, which was a rough transition at first but I'm loving it. I love not worrying about it falling, getting dirty, leaving it behind, etc. His bedtimes are a little more sad than before but I'm glad that he can go to sleep without it.

~He doesn't like baby food anymore and wants to try everything you're eating. Once it's in his mouth he decides whether he is going to swallow it or spit it out. He doesn't like most fruits...which I think is weird. He likes bananas and apples but hates strawberries and grapes. He loves frozen peas and corn (not canned...he is specific about this). I think his favorite foods are: yogurt, spaghetti, and waffles.

~He is completely mesmerized by the vacuum, blow dryer or anything that makes a loud noise.

~I love to see his face light up when he recognizes his grandparents or other family members. I love that he is generous with his smiles and will 'cheese it' for anyone who smiles at him.

Easter

The Easter Bunny came!!! It's tradition in my family to line up and take a pre-picture and a post-picture. Another tradition is to go inside, dump your candy out on the floor, sort it and trade it. The kids were so excited...it was hard to get them to hold still for the pre-picture.

I LOVE Brock's smile in this picture!
We also had an adult Easter egg hunt (which is insanely fun!) and dyed Easter eggs....but I need to get the pictures from my mom. Easter is such a fun holiday at our house!!

She melts our hearts!~

Hello? Anyone there?
~
Brock is now forward facing in the car...

...do you think he likes it?

Go Pink Ponies!

Allie started soccer this weekend and her first game was extremely entertaining! Just a bunch a 4-year olds chasing the ball back and forth, going the wrong way, and scoring in the wrong goal. One little boy picked the ball up and made the kids chase him down the field where he threw it into the goal and jumped up and down celebrating! We were laughing so hard!

{Stretching for the game}
