4 Months

16.4 lbs (75%) and 27" (96%)

Things we absolutely ADORE about Brock:

~

He is such a happy, smiley baby! {And I'm not just saying that...he truly is a happy boy}

~

His giggles. Once he gets started he will laugh over and over again. And because we laugh at his laughs, he laughs even more! I love that he'll laugh in anticipation to being tickled.

~

He loves/needs attention. I love to see how he instantly cheers up when someone looks at him. All you have to do is make eye contact and he'll start grinning.

{Brock was fussing in his swing and Allie walked up to him and said in baby talk, "Do you want some detention? Do ya? Do you want some detention?" Instantly he started smiling and cooing at her. He really did want 'attention'!}

~

He is so active and strong. When laying on his back he is constantly doing crunches trying to sit up. He likes to grab your fingers and push himself up to stand. He has now mastered rolling over from back to belly. He has on occasion rolled from belly to back but he mostly gets stuck on his belly.

~

In those rare moments when he does cry, he has the most adorable bottom lip that sticks out. It will break your heart!

~

Our silly girl:

Allie: My stomach is so funny, he keeps screaming, "I'm so hungry...I need yogurt!" He just says that over and over again.

Me: Really? Your stomach is a boy? And he talks?

Allie: Yeah, he just keeps saying I need yogurt.

Lately

We took a trip to St. George to see Kyle's grandparents on his dad's side. Both Allie and Brock loved Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Elaine!
One the way home, we stopped in to visit my grandma. We love our grandparents so much!
Last weekend Kyle's dad and Debi came down for a quick visit. It was fun seeing them. The kids had a blast!
We are loving being so close to the mountains. Here we are taking a walk through Cascade Springs.

Brock is coming up on 4 months. He is so smiley. Loves attention. Rolls over, both ways. Always trying to sit up. Sleeps on his side. Sleeping 7-9 hours at night. And loves his big sister! I feel so lucky to be a mom to the best two kids ever!

Brock's Blessing

I didn't blog much of our trip to Utah in June because once I got back to Houston I was rushed to pack up and move. I do, however, want to spotlight this event. Brock was blessed on June 26th by Kyle. We love our little Brock so much! He is such a sweet and special boy!

Kyle-1, Allie-3

After dinner last night we decided to head up to the lake and go fishing. This is one of Kyle's favorite parts about living in Utah...we are seriously minutes away from this lake. Kyle caught the first fish, who proudly let Allie reel it all the way in. She was so excited! It was almost time to go but Kyle wanted to catch at least one more. So to keep Allie busy he threw one of his poles out there and told Allie to reel it in. We were waiting for a bite on Kyle's line, when all of a sudden we look over at Allie who has reeled in a fish almost to the shore. She hooked and reeled it in all by herself! It happened two other times! She also hooked two more but lost them. So Allie really did catch more than her dad. She kept saying, "I'm so proud of me!" And while handing the fishing pole back to dad to recast she would say, "one more mom." She has the 'fishin' itch'...just like her dad! Kyle said this was one of his favorite fishing trips...he was SO proud of his little girl!
{PS...she used Kyle's fishing pole, not a kiddy pole!}

{Allie loves her little brother}
Here is a picture of Kyle and Allie at Pappasito's. It is the most amazing Mexican restaurant in Texas. I'm going to miss it SO much! So our move out here was quite the adventure. It's funny now...not then :) Our Penske truck broke down 150 miles away from Amarillo in a small town. We parked the truck at this Shell station and waited for a mechanic to come look at it. After an hour of waiting, Kyle called and Penske said the mechanic was on his way but was stuck in traffic. So we waited another hour. Then Kyle gets a call from the mechanic who tells Kyle to step out of the car and look across the street. He then waves for Kyle to bring the truck over to his shop. It was right across the street!!! Because of a broken fuel pump we could only go 50 mph until Amarillo where Penske had another truck sent from Lubbock with a swap crew to move everything from one truck to another. Except the swap crew never showed up, leaving Kyle and my dad to swap everything at midnight. But we are here now...and all is well.
