January

*The weather in Houston has been amazing...high 60's and low 70's. Which means Allie and I have spent hours outside visiting different parks nearby. One of the parks close to our house has a pond that stocks rainbow trout in the winter. They even allow you to catch the trout using corn (which is against the law in Utah). Here is us fishing one Saturday morning.

* We've been using the crib headboard as Allie's headboard, but seeing that we'll be needing the crib soon we started looking on Craigslist for a twin bed for Allie. We found this one for cheap. Kyle was so excited to bring out the tools to fix this bed up for Allie.
Joe and Kyle sanding it down.
Final product! It was more work than I thought it would be, but we love how it turned out!
Things to Remember
~
*Allie LOVES to play mom. She makes me call her mom and she calls me 'sweet girl.' She'll pretend to make me lunch and put me down for a nap. She'll ask me if I'm scared and that if I am I can pray to Heavenly Father or sing a song. It was so cute to see that she remembered what I told her one night when she said she was scared of the dark. She is going to be the best big sister!
~
*Allie is a princess from head to toe all. the. time! And thanks to Allie's grandma's, she is supplied with an entire wardrobe of outfits and accessories to choose from.
~
*Allie's Favorites:
Food: Yogurt and Cheese (She sneaks them ALL the time)
Movie: Snow White or Monsters, Inc.

A Sun-beep!

Allie is officially a Sunbeam (she calls it Sun-beeps). The first week I dropped her off I sat down with her while we were waiting for her teacher to come and she told me to go and tried to push me out of the chair. The second week there was hesitation and a few tears when I dropped her off. But it only took 2 minutes with me out of the room to completely warm up and be herself again.
~
During class the teacher asked Allie where we go when we die...she replied, "Utah!" Close...not quite :) She's already said the prayer in opening exercises...which I heard she did all by herself and was quite lengthy. In between classes I'll peek in to see how she is doing and I can tell she is going to be a handful. One time I caught her on her stomach under her chair. Another behind the chalk board at the front of the room. And then once sitting in her chair....at the front of the room, next to podium, facing the other kids.
~
I can't believe I have a Sunbeam! It is so fun to see her grow and learn.
~
I took some pictures of her in her Sunday outfit on her first day as a Sunbeam but when I uploaded them they were corrupted and now they have disappeared. I was so bummed! So unfortunately this post doesn't have a picture.
