Sleeping on the Floor

I found Allie this morning not in her bed, but rather in between her two dressers on the floor. I love how she is laying on a blanket and pillow. This isn't the first time I've found her asleep on the floor. I think this is her away of protesting bedtime. What I don't understand is how she took off her PJ's. She has never been able to take off her shirt before. I'm just glad that when I found her she still had on her diaper! Which reminds me of a funny story a couple of Sundays ago when I went to pick Allie up from nursery. The nursery leader asked me if I had brought Allie to nursery with a diaper on...and of course I had! (I had just changed her diaper before nursery) I pulled up Allie's dress and sure enough, there was her bare bum! The leaders couldn't find the diaper and we laughed thinking that she stuffed it into one of the leader's bag.

French Braids!

This was my first time braiding Allie's hair. She sat so still and only said "Ouch" once. I definitely struggle when it comings to french braiding but Allie was patient with me.

Conversations with a Toddler

During breakfast this morning this was our conversation.

Allie: (holding out her sippy cup) "I want milk"..."more milk"

Jill: "You want more milk?"

A: "Yeah."

(Picks up spoon and takes another bite of fruit loops) "Mmmm, licious." (short for delicious)

J: "Is that delicious?"

A: "Yeah."

(Pointing to mommy) "Mommy"

(Pointing to daddy's empty chair) "Daddy"

J: "Where is Daddy?"

A: "Work."

I wasn't really expecting her to answer. I was expecting her to say "I dunno." Sometimes I don't give her credit for how much she understands.

The other day she said "Daddy, where are you?" I think that was her first time grouping 4 words together.

I love to listen to her conversations on the phone with her grandparents. Although I know they don't understand a word she is saying, she is actually telling them of events over the day because I'll catch a few words in between her jibber. It is so crazy how much kids can learn before they are 2.
